The family mediation voucher scheme is a time-limited scheme, designed to support parties who may be able to resolve their family law disputes outside of court. The Government has set up the scheme in response to Covid-19 to support recovery in the family court and to encourage more people to consider mediation as a means of resolving their disputes, where appropriate.
The scheme will offer mediation participants a financial contribution of up to £500 per family towards the total costs of their mediation concerning arrangements for their children.
Families will be eligible for the voucher scheme where their mediation concerns arrangements for children. An individual’s income will not be a deciding factor which means anyone who wishes to mediate in connection with a matter concerning children will be eligible.
The voucher will not cover the cost of your Mediation Information and Assessment Meeting (MIAM) but will cover the cost of any subsequent mediation between both parties up to the value of £500 inc. VAT.
Participants must have attended a MIAM on or after 26th March 2021 to apply for a voucher towards any mediation that follows. The scheme will run until all the funds have been used so this will be a first-come, first-serve basis.
If you would like more information about mediation or the voucher scheme, please do not hesitate to get in touch on 0113 322 9222 or at mediation@consilialegal.co.uk . Our specialist mediation team will be happy to help with any of your queries.
